The 2025 PeaceMakers Challenge: Be the Peace!
Our Mission: To turn the worst of times into the best of times by empowering youth (of all ages) especially in schools, to become active PeaceMakers. We challenge you to dream big, get creative, and take action to build a world that works for everyone—peacefully, in every way.
The Core Idea: Peace is not just being quiet or the absence of fighting. It is harmony, helpfulness, fairness, respect, and deep care for our world and all its beings. The PeaceMakers Challenge invites you to bring our guiding vision to life: "Peace IN Everything, Everything AS Peace". This is your chance to make peace a reality—both a noun and a verb!
The Challenge: Create Your Vision of Peace
Your task is to create a project—big or small, individual or collective—that expresses your vision of peace. What does a world with "Peace IN Everything" look like, feel like, and act like? Show us!
Your project can take any form:
Art & Music: Create a song, a mural, a dance, a short film, a series of memes, or a theatrical performance that inspires peace.
Action & Service: Start a kindness campaign, a community organic garden using regenerative practices, a recycling program, or a project that promotes restorative justice in your school.
Innovation & Design: Inspired by nature (biomimicry), design a more cooperative game, a sustainable product, or a system for your classroom that reduces waste and increases harmony.
Storytelling & Media: Write a story, create a podcast, or start a social media channel sharing acts of peace and helpfulness you observe and create.
Personal Practice: Develop and share a new peace practice, like an easy PeaceMaker meditation or a fun, cooperative activity that brings people together. For example, one PeaceMaker created the Peace Salute to spread love and peace when greeting or saying goodbye. What can you create?
Guiding Principles from Ancient Wisdom & Modern Practice
As you develop your project, let these powerful ideas guide you:
Children are Soul’s in Evolution: Education should not feel like a factory assembly line. This challenge honors the truth that every young person is a spark of God with a unique purpose. Our project is a way to nourish this inner light and let it shine.
Nothing Can Be Taught, Only Uncovered: True learning is an "aha!" moment where we discover what we already knew in our heart. This challenge isn't about memorizing facts; it's about awakening our innate curiosity and wisdom to solve real-world problems.
Cooperation Creates Miracles: Nature teaches us that collaboration, not competition, is the key to thriving. Whether it's the way a forest supports all its inhabitants or how a team wins a game through unity, our project shows the power of working together.
Embody the Peace We Wish to See: Lasting change starts within. Practices like the PeaceMaker Meditation—breathing in "Peace IN Everything" and breathing out "Everything AS Peace"—help calm the mind and create a peaceful state from which powerful action can flow. Our challenge is to not just talk about peace, but to be it.
How the Challenge Works: From Our Classroom to the World Stage!
Imagine the ripple effect of your creative action!
Step 1: The Classroom Spark: Individually or as a class, brainstorm and create your PeaceMakers Challenge project.
Step 2: The School Showcase: Present your projects to the entire school. A panel of students, teachers, and community members will select a project to represent your school.
Step 3: District Collaboration: The champions from each school in the district will come together. Instead of competing, you will collaborate to combine our ideas into an even grander, more impactful expression of peace.
Step 4: Scaling Up: This collaborative process continues, moving up from the district to the regional, national, and finally, the world stage, creating a unified, global vision of peace built by the youth of the world.
The ultimate prize isn't just recognition—it's creating a world that works for all, turning our most challenging times into our greatest opportunity for transformation.
How We Can Make This Go Viral: A Movement for Peace
A viral movement is built on simple, powerful, and shareable actions. Here’s how we can spread the PeaceMakers Challenge globally:
The Personal Vision Statement: Start by creating and sharing your own Personal Vision Statement of Peace. What does "Peace IN Everything" mean to you? Share it on social media with the hashtag #PeaceMakersChallenge. Here’s an example to get you started: “Because I believe Total Peace is Possible, I am called to BE Peace in a way that ignites in others their vision of Peace, resulting in Uniting together creating Peace IN Everything, Everything AS Peace”.
Flood Social Media with Peace: Share every step of your project online—the brainstorming, the creation, and the final result. Use videos, photos, and live streams. This makes the vision of peace tangible and inspires others to join.
The Peace Salute: Adopt the Peace Salute! It's a simple, universal gesture of love and peace that is easy to share and replicate. End your videos with it, use it with friends, and teach it to others.
Nominate and Amplify: Challenge other schools, classrooms, and youth groups to take up the PeaceMakers Challenge. Create a "pass it on" nomination chain.
Partner with Influencers and Organizations: Connect with organizations like Living Values Education (LVE), The Virtues Project, Rotary Clubs, other peace-building networks to amplify the message. LVE's materials are free to download, offering excellent resources for educators and parents to create values-based atmospheres where peace can flourish.
